Ilocos Sur
Duration : 4-6 hours
Budget : Depends how many chichacorn and royal bibingka you’re going to buy
Bummers : When your buddy gets dysmenorrhea while walking, you’ll be forced to ride the kalesa
You’ve never been in Ilocos Sur if you haven’t sashayed along the old streets of Vigan City.
Travel through time and go back to the Spanish regime when you walk along the streets of Vigan City in Ilocos Sur. You can find lots of goodies in these streets like chichacorn, dreamcatcher, tabako, and other things made from wood and bamboo. You can also get your souvenir shirt here. There is an Island Souvenirs store along the street or you can opt to get your shirt from other stores as well.
You can also try out clay pottery in Vigan. You can create your own vase or bowl with your bare hands. Well, the vase or bowl will depend on how many mistakes you’ll make. The more mistakes you commit, the more will the vase become a bowl. So if you’re awesome like my friend in the pic, you’ll end up having a vase in the end.
After dropping by Vigan, travel back to present and check out the beach. Lucky for us, our host lives near the beach. The garden is the beach. The front porch is the beach. Just open the door and behind there is..
oh..
of course..
the beach.
I’ll probably go back in Ilocos Sur someday, especially during the surfing season in December. I hope our host will still host us by that time.
Spread some awesome..ness..
