Island Garden City of Samal
Duration : Overnight
Budget : Staying in Pearl Farm will require you more (read: a lot of!) money (Pearl Farm Rates) but if you will be staying in other resorts, Php3,000 is enough
Bummers : Fear of heights, nature, and the deep blue sea
You haven’t been in Island Garden City of Samal if you’ve never taken a dive using the Giant Slide or been in Pearl Farm..
When in Davao City, you shouldn’t miss spending a day or two in the Island Garden City of Samal. This is one of the amazing destinations in the city with its white sand beaches, pearls and stuff, and Maxima Resort’s Giant Slide. Fun Fact, the Island Garden City of Samal is actually part of Davao del Norte but locals and tourists alike popularly know it as a component of Davao City since it is just a 5 minute boat ride worth Php15 off Beachside Resort in Davao City.
Samal City is called an Island Garden City because it is an island which is field with lush vegetation which makes it a garden and it is becoming urbanized though in a rural environment which makes it a city. I didn’t make that up. Swear!
When we visited the Island Garden City of Samal, we stayed at Paradise Resort. It isn’t a bad resort to stay in, actually it is a great resort to stay in, but I really wished we stayed at Bluejaz instead because it had its own pool and own water slide which could have been awesome. Anyway, we can always go back there someday and who knows, we might already have the budget to stay at Pearl Farm Resort which is awesomer.
If you love the great outdoors, staying in Paradise Resort is the best option. They have a mini bird zoo or aviary where you can find some of the most exotic and colorful birds that you’ll only find in this resort. If you get lucky, you might even see a friendly giant bird with yellow feathers who lives in a street named after those seeds on top of a hamburger bun.
Paradise Resort has lots of sports amenities such as a billiard hall, table tennis, futbolin, air hockey, and beach volleyball. They also have water sports amenities such as kayaks, paddle boats, aqua bikes, and pedal boats. A lot of sports amenities to enjoy during your stay in Paradise, literally.
What I love the most about Paradise Resort is their efficient room service. I won’t forget my first room service breakfast of eggs, sausages, and fried rice. How I wish it could be like that everyday..
When in the Island Garden City of Samal, you should visit Maxima Aqua Fun. They are popular for having two giant slides that are 40-feet high. Sliding on it directly throws you off the deep blue sea. Don’t you worry if you don’t know how to swim because you will be required to wear a life jacket. One of the slides is more steeper than the other and therefore you can expect to slide faster on the steeper slide. Maxima Aqua Fun has an entrance fee of Php300 which has a complimentary canopy walk included. Take a leap, take a plunge, and be awesome.
Spread some awesome..ness..
