Conti's Pastry Shop and Restaurant

Ever since I have heard of the Conti’s resto, I have always wanted to come and visit this place. My friends say that their cakes are awesome and their food is, as Barney would say, legen..wait for it..dary! However, the Conti’s restos that I know are not strategically located where I stay. But today, I was able to pay this resto a visit at its Katipunan branch. And aside from that, it was my brother’s birthday too so I decided to treat him to dinner there.

I was very excited to have a taste of Conti’s. I even did not eat lunch so that I can have lots of space for all the food I plan to eat there. For starters, I ordered the Symphony Salad which me and I brother shared. My friend had the Soup of the Day which is Seafood Chowder. So far, the Symphony Salad is the best salad I had. IMHO, it has beaten Craving’s Salad. Seafood Chowder was ok, I really wanted to try the Clam Chowder but it wasn’t available since it wasn’t the Soup of the Day.

Then, we ordered Fettuccine Carbonara. Since the dinner was for a birthday celebration it is a must to have pasta.

For the main course, I had the Roast Beef in Mushroom Sauce. My brother had the American Grilled Ribs. My friend had the Conti’s Baked Salmon which was their bestseller. All of these meals are great. Like the tag line of the popular chocolate brand M&M’s, their food melts in your mouth and not in your hands. I love the beef, the ribs, and the salmon!

Lastly, for dessert, we had a slice of Mango Bravo. This frozen cake had layers of different taste – a layer of chiffon cake, a layer of chocolate with ice cream-like texture, a layer of cream with mangoes, a layer of ladyfingers, then a layer of chiffon again topped with mango cubes. They say it is the best cake in Conti’s, I say that it is a must try cake!
