Top 5 Chocolate Cakes

After adding a couple more pounds trying out different chocolate cakes, I was able to create a list of the top 5 chocolate cakes that I ever had. I tried making the list versatile to include cakes for health-conscious people and cakes that are simply sinfully-good. I also included those you can buy in the metro and those that you should check out when you go out of the city.

I know that determining the top 5 chocolate cakes is an ongoing debate but in my opinion and with the use of my own palate, here is what I have in the list. So, when the craving for chocolatey goodness strikes, you’ll know where to find them.

1. Chocolate Caramel Cake from Cukay’s

It was love at first bite when I had Cukay’s. I felt like I was brought to heaven and back with the perfect combination of chocolate and caramel in this cake. Among all the chocolate cakes that I have had, Cukay’s is the moistest. The chocolate seems to sink within the super moist cake layers. The thick caramel sauce that surrounds it complements well with this super moist chocolate cake.

Cukay’s can be found at Eastwood City Weekend Market. It also has booths during weekends at Rockwell and Podium. Updates regarding opening of their stores will be posted once they are made available.

2. Chocolate Cake from Cafe Mary Grace

Popular for their cheese rolls and ensaymadas, Cafe Mary Grace also provides one of the best chocolate cakes in the metro. Its chocolate cake is perfectly baked with the taste of sweetness and chocolate bitterness creating a balance. This chocolate cake is not too sweet and not too bitter so you can eat lots of slices without getting used to its taste. You might even end up eating the whole cake without noticing it.

3. Guiltless Chocolate Cake from Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf

The best chocolate cake for people who want to have the chocolatey experience without compromising their calorie intake is the Guiltless Chocolate Cake. This chocolate cake is made for health-conscious individuals who still want to enjoy a slice of chocolate cake with less guilt hence, the name. This cake has a mousse-like texture which melts in your mouth when you eat it. The chocolate shavings placed on top of it add more to the guiltless chocolate experience with every bite.
