While searching for the newly-opened Chatime in Robinsons Galleria, we got a little hungry so we decided to eat first. We saw Chef d’ Angelo and we decided to have a take on their food. I know their onion rings are really popular but I am not really sure with their other meals. So, we tested their sampler 1, their onion rings, and their cheese fries. Here is what I can say after having a taste of their food.
The Sampler 1 (Php148) consists of a pasta dish, one-piece fried chicken, and a slice of Hawaiian pizza. You can choose whether you want white sauce or red sauce for the pasta. The taste of the pasta was just typical. It just the same taste that you can get from other fast food chains. The pizza is good. The crust is soft which I really like but the toppings are obviously not the same that you get from gourmet pizza restos. The chicken is typical too, nothing new there.
The only thing that I love the most from Chef d’ Angelo is their Fried Onion Rings (Php95). They serve a large basketful of onion rings and their onion rings are really tasty. When you bite one onion ring, you can see that they use really onions inside. Whole pieces of onions where cut and fried altogether to create this delicious appetizer. The onion rings is served with a sour cream dip.
The Cheese Fries (Php80) is similar to the fries that you can have from Jollibee or McDonalds. Maybe I just expect something more that is why I got a bit disappointed. The cheese fries is served with a sour cream dip. I just don’t think they match though.
We got Iced Teas (Php40) to refresh ourselves after the meal.
The service at Chef d’ Angelo is a bit slow. There are not that many customers but still we waited about 15 minutes to get our food served. That was when I thought it was a fast food resto that is why I expected more from them. Also, I was wondering why are there people sleeping at one side of the resto. I don’t think they are customers. It’s just bizarre to see some crews sleeping while you wait a long time to get your food served.
In case I go back to Chef d’ Angelo, maybe I would just order their onion rings. I am still thinking if I would try out their cakes. Hmmm.. What do you think?
Spread some awesome..ness..

I am also not happy with being at Chef d’ Angelo in Galleria. When I was there, I asked about their bestseller and they kept explaining to me what is on the menu. I think it is not apparent to them that I can read too. I also ordered the sampler and was not happy about it. The food is a bit bland. All I am happy about is their onion rings. I think they are popular for that.
Anyway, maybe some people like since it is still existing after 10 years. I might not be coming back to this place any time soon. There are a lot better Italian restaurants like Sbarro or Itallianis, and American restaurants since I am confused what Chef d’ Angelo really is.
those sleeping crews are on a break..
