Showtime

I had the privilege to tour around ABS-CBN and witness the opening of Showtime Season 4 live. Yay!!! It was my first time to go to ABS-CBN and see what’s inside it. We were a bit late that is why we only arrived for only half the tour. We missed seeing the studios where ASAP and Umagang Kay Ganda are shot. :( However, we had the opportunity to see the studio where TV Patrol and Bandila are held. We also got to see the booth of DZMM.

This is the ABS-CBN Newscenter. This is where TV Patrol and Bandila are done live. The newscenter is only small and as explained by the tour guide, they only use wide-angle cameras to add an appearance of wide space when you see it on TV. Since the space is widened, so are the people who are captured using these cameras. That is why when you see TV personalities in real life, they are a lot thinner. The wide-angle cameras add about 10 kilos to a person whose video is being captured.

It was an honor to have a personal experience with Kuya Kim’s giant iPad. :)

This is the booth for DZMM. We were not allowed to enter the booth because it was so small and a radio program is ongoing at that time. Ted Failon is on air.Ted Failon in DZMM Booth

We just walked by the booth and through the hallway of ABS-CBN. Then, we were already outside and we saw the Dolphy Theater.

Dolphy Theater

The Dolphy Theater is also known as ABS-CBN Studio 1. This used to be the home of Eat Bulaga when they were still under ABS-CBN. Due to the immeasurable contribution of the Comedy King, ABS-CBN named this studio in his honor. As you can see, the Dolphy Theater is locked because it is only used for special events and for board meetings. This is where the auditions for Pilipinas Got Talent is also held.

Just across the Dolphy Theater is a chapel inside the ABS-CBN compound. It is called the Chapel of Annunciation. I think I have seen this in many TV shows and movies.Chapel of Annunciation

After a 5-minute break, we were brought to the waiting area before entering the Showtime studio. We only waited around 15 minutes and a few safety reminders were announced prior to entering the studio.

.

A pre-show is projected in the screen while waiting for the actual show. It was a short comic film where the Showtime hosts including Kuya Kim acted out a barrio love story. Well, you gotta see it for yourself. ;)

After that short film, we were surprised by Papa P and Sam Milby – not! Two of the Showtime Lolos, Mel Feliciano and Master J came out and we started having fun even before the actual show started. They taught the Madlang Pipol a few moves and dance steps that should be done in the actual show. So that’s the way it is done. I love the dance steps for Fireworks! Lol.

We caught Anne Curtis and Vhong Navarro having an LQ. Yihii. Kidding! ;)

Also got a few funny shots of Vice Ganda. Peace! :)

The other four Hurados came out and they picked their seating arrangement. They were Ryan Bang, Kiray Celis, Regine Angeles, and Janus del Prado.Other Four Hurados
