Mine Shine

Mine Shine

The test for milk teas continues and I was quite surprised to find a good ready-to-drink milk tea at 7-Eleven. Mine Shine Milk Tea is only available at 7-Eleven stores. So, if you want to try this, head out now to the 7-Eleven branch near you!

Mine Shine Milk Tea is a little light on the taste - actually, bordering between semi-sweet to bland. This is perfect for people who to drink milk tea without much of that tea scent. However, people who really enjoy the strong tea aroma will find Mine Shine unsatisfactory. There is also a Chocolate Milk Tea available in 7-Eleven. I am not sure though if it is also Mine Shine since it has no English label on, only Chinese characters I believe.Chocolate Milk Tea

Similar to Mine Shine Milk Tea, the Chocolate Milk Tea only has a light tea taste. It seems to be more like a chocolate drink than a tea drink. It’s really good when you drink it cold!

According to Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA), Mine Shine Milk Tea does not contain DEHP. Check the lists of products that passed their DEHP testing here.

Spread some awesome..ness.. :D

I tried this today because i had read a lot of people raving about it and I myself love milk tea but i was really disappointed by this. you’re right, it’s semi-sweet bordering on bland i would just call it BLAND. It tastes like it had been diluted A LOT. I really wouldn’t buy it again. I actually recently tried C2′s milk tea and it was a lot tastier (too bad the only size available as of now is really small).

I also tried Mine Shine just a few minutes ago. The company who manufactures the product, Uni-President, Taiwan, also manufactures my favorite tea drink, Chai Li Won. I absolutely love Mine Shine for its delicate taste although if you’re used to C2′s sweetness, you might find Mine Shine “bland”. Fortunately for me, I find C2 and most ready to drink tea products too sweet. Compared to traditional milk teas though, Mine Shine has a more full-bodied taste since it uses black tea. It also has barley that gives the product a very distinct taste. If you are interested in trying new tastes in your tea besides the predictable tea + artificial fruit flavor + loads of sugar, I’d definitely recommend Mine Shine.

Thanks for sharing. I also find Mine Shine’s taste more authentic compared to our local brands. But I think most Pinoys like the sweet taste like in spaghetti. Most of us prefer the sweet style than the Italian style. :)
