Draft GastroPub in The Fort Strip, Taguig
Budget : ~Php700 for a huge meal and a large glass of booze
Duration : depends on how drunk you want to get
Bummers : you might have to wait a long time to be seated if the resto/bar is full
Nomnom Rating : 5/5
Nadine, my new beer buddy, has been craving to try Draft for quite some time. The first time we tried checking out Draft, we were not able to do so. There was a private event in the gastropub that night (and sadly, we weren’t invited). But this did not keep us from trying out this new place that offers imported beer on tap and large-sized European comfort food. After two weeks since the first try, we went again.
We were able to get in this time. But, since it was a Friday, a lot of people have drinking plans. Draft was packed and we had to wait for about two hours to get a booth for six awesome people. We stood outside the bar, under the drizzle, but it was so worth it.
Once we got to our booth, the Hoegaarden, Stella Artois, Beck’s, and Leffe Brune started pouring in.
Waiting two hours to get in the gastropub made us so hungry. I ordered the Angry Drunk Mussels (Php590). It is half a kilo of mussels cooked with Hoegaarden beer, bacon, chili, onion and fresh parsley, which is perfect for sharing while having a round of booze. It is spicy with a kick of alcohol. It is the right combo to get tipsy afterwards. It is served with a side of frites and sour bread.
I also had a split of The Draft Fully-Loaded Burger (Php480). It is half-pound burger of US Angus Beef topped with bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, caramelized onion, fried egg, and cheese. All those veggies were covered by the patty. It is served with a side of frites.
Cayo ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich (Php350). It is served with frites and coleslaw.
Glen got the Bleu Cheeseburger (Php380). It’s made with half-pound burger of US Angus Beef and topped with bleu cheese, onion jam, and truffle aioli. It is served with frites.
Leya and Nadine had a burger party on their end of the table. Each ordered a Half Pound Cheeseburger (Php320) and got them split into two. So their side had four quarter pounders.
Drunk that we are (kidding!), Nadine braved to order a Php450 bottle of Trappistes Rochefort. It’s a fragrant, powerful beer with a bitter kick. When I tasted it, I doubted that it was a beer. I think it’s just on disguise.
I would definitely go back to Draft. For the food. And for the booze.
Spread some awesome..ness..
