I am very particular when it comes to the places I stay when I am traveling. When I go on a vacation, I make sure that I get a comfortable place to stay during that time. If it is my first time to visit the place, I ask people I know who have already gone there. I ask them about the best places to stay and if the rates are reasonable. I also check the internet for reviews about these hotels. There are many websites that offer this information and sometimes, you can even book a hotel through them.

When we were in Singapore, we stayed at Value Hotel Thomson. I checked out websites that show hotel information in Singapore and Value Thomson Hotel has one of the best ratings from travelers and a reasonable price for me. We booked our reservations through their website and we got instant confirmation from them. The great thing about booking with them in advance is that they don’t bill you instantly. A week before traveling, you need to confirm your stay with them. If not, you can still change your mind and you won’t billed for making reservations from them. Convenient.

Getting a place to stay in Singapore even for just a few days is quite expensive.

At Value Hotel Thomson, the rooms are a bit small and even the comfort rooms. I think the number of guests allowed per room are just enough. If you add another guest, it will be crowded. But, the rooms are clean and very comfortable to stay in.

Value Hotel Thomson has a small gym room. I know that going on a vacation is all about relaxing but some people might not be able to spend a few days not running on a treadmill or carrying heavy weights. Value Hotel Thomson has a facility that can satisfy your need to sweat out, especially after eating a lot of food when roaming around Singapore.

Right outside the gym room is the swimming pool. If you want to unwind before you go out to the city or before you go to sleep, you can take a dip at the pool. But since it is outdoors and at a high location, it can be very windy and cold. The use of the pool is also limited, I think you can only use it until 7PM.

Value Hotel Thomson provides complimentary bottled water, coffee, and tea that they replenish daily. I like their instant coffee and tea. They are a bit different from our usual Nescafe but they tasted great.

Before going out of the hotel, we prepared the essentials needed to go around Singapore and not get lost – maps! Well, that wasn’t the main objective but it’s great to spend more time enjoying the city than figuring out where are we and how we can get home.

The transportation system in Singapore is superb. Their train system is easy to get familiar with and it makes traveling around Singapore very convenient. If you go around the city on your own, make sure that you have a copy of their train system as a guide.

Spread some awesome..ness.. :D
