Focaccia in The Fort Strip, Taguig
Budget : ~Php280 per meal
Duration : ~1-2 hours
Bummers : small serving
Nomnom Rating : 4/5
One day, after driving from Roxas Blvd. to Pasig via Kalayaan Avenue, I decided that I explore Bonifacio Global City – walking from Serendra to Bonifacio High Street to The Fort Strip. Since I was a commoner of Eastwood City, I decided to have a change of environment by walking around this place. I was also meeting a friend that day who was coming from Makati and we decided to have late lunch in Focaccia.
I have been hearing about Focaccia a lot from another friend so when I had the chance to try it, I did. Focaccia reminds me of Italliani’s but with a bit cheaper prices on the menu.
When we entered Focaccia, we were the only people in the restaurant. Maybe because it was around 3 PM and normally, you should be in the office working. This is one of the perks of doing freelance work – flexible schedule.
We were welcomed by the waiter and he lead us to our seats. After giving the menu, he gave us complimentary Focaccia bread, and a dip consisting of balsamic vinegar and olive oil. He also gave us two shakers – one with grated parmesan cheese and the other had chili flakes. We would probably using these when the main dish are served.
I ordered Chicken Parmigiana. It was fried chicken breast fillet topped with melted parmesan. It is served with a side of of pasta. I was not very impressed with the dish. Though the cheese and potatoes are good, the chicken was quite tough. But, the pasta was also delicious. Maybe it was just that one time. I might try it again in the future.
My good friend, Basti, had something like the Fish Fillet in Caper Sauce. I guess he was trying to eat healthy. The fish was lying on top of julienned green leafy veggies. It had two slices of lemon and poured with creamy caper sauce.
Focaccia is popular for its pizza and pasta. Unfortunately, I was not able to try the pizzas because there were only two of us. I would probably try Focaccia and bring more friends with me next time .
Spread some awesome..ness..
