Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, Thailand
Budget : fare is 40 Baht (Php70) – (exchange rate used is 1 Baht = Php1.75, rate during my trip)
Duration : ~30 minutes
Bummers : seasickness
If you plan to visit the Grand Palace and the popular wat in Thonburi – Wat Arun, you will definitely have a boat ride in Chao Phraya River. To go to the pier where you can ride the boat on Chao Phraya River, you need to ride the BTS SkyTrain Silom Line and exit at Saphan Taksin station. The river pier is just a few steps away from this station.
Based from what I have seen, I think the boats on the Chao Phraya River are primary mode of transportation especially for people living on the other side, at Thonburi. I have seen people in school uniforms and business attires who rode the boats at this river. I bet they do this everyday. Cool!
The boats on Chao Phraya River looked different from the usual bangka (boat) that we have in Philippines. The Thai boats have so much oomph!
Even the structures by the Chao Phraya Riverbank are built with so much attitude. Awesome!
The ride on Chao Phraya River was awesome. The view is picturesque. It’s a great experience. Here we were inside the boat.
Spread some awesome..ness..
