Purple Oven in Pasig City
Budget : ~Php500-700 for the cakes
Duration : a few minutes
Bummers : store is a little difficult to spot
Purple Oven is a hidden gem in the middle of the busy streets in Pasig City. And when I say hidden, it’s literally tucked inside a narrow street in Oranbo, Pasig City. If you are not very familiar with the place like me, it’s very likely that you’ll get lost first before you find this awesome cake store. But the search, and the risk of getting lost, is totally worth it. Trust me. I just took a bite a while ago of the cake I bought and I think I can’t remember my name.
Who am I?
I am not kidding! Who am I? Well, at least I can remember what I bought. I got Grandma’s Chocolate Cake (Php550).
This cake is not only pretty but it’s delicious! How I wish my grandma baked me a cake as good as this. Awww…
The chocolate ribbons on top are yummy. The caramel filling is heavenly! I am gonna use that filling to brush my teeth so that it will always be in my mouth and I will always be tasting it. I am just worried, I hope it contains fluoride to protect me against cavities. Oh, I don’t care. Lol.
I love this cake so much I am beginning to forget other chocolate cakes..
Soft-baked cookies are also my weakness. I got Purple Oven’s Chocolate Macadamia Cookies (Php240 for 8 pcs.). They are soft, chewy, and chocolatey. They also contain chunks of macadamia nuts.
Mmmm mmmm mmmm. Sorry, but I am not sharing these. No no no.
By the way, even if most of Purple Oven’s customers go there to buy a cake or any pastry that they can bring home, you can also dine in their pleasing little store. You can also have a cup of coffee with your cake if you want to.
For directions, check out this map created by Ian Inalbes. Thanks!
Purple Oven has a secret but if I tell you, I have to kill you.. Or they might kill me.. Lol. So let’s just forget about that and..
Update (09 March 2012):
A good friend of mine, Isabel, gave me an awesome gift. My happiness is shallow and as long as it’s something to do with awesome food or travel, I will be cartwheeling with joy. She went to Purple Oven today, got me a copy of their latest menu, scanned it, and sent to me. Here it is. For those planning to buy, you might wanna send me some. Lol.
Spread some awesome..ness..

Hi Carmen! Check out the map I have above. I have updated post with the instructions on how to go there. Enjoy!
I know their secret… =) love their cakes too!
when i went there way back in 2008, i was lost not once, not twice, but thrice!!! so i thought it was just an urban legend hehehe. good thing they now have a branch near the Sacred Heart Shrine in Makati and it was my wife (who was the one i want to surprise with a cake from-the-bakery-that-___-____) who reminded me of purple oven when she went home last week with a pack of revel bars that immediately took a beating from my daughter and nephews. i hope to drop by their makati branch.
hello there! upon seeing the menu, does that mean that they don’t sell cakes in slices? =) i really wanna try a variety of cake in purple oven.. but im not sure which flavor i should choose if ill be buying a whole cake.. =) thanks for you suggestion!
Hi, may I know the directions or what I could say to the taxi driver to get to this awesome delicious place???
