Beach Hopping in Laiya, San Juan, Batangas

Going to the beach is one of the top reasons why travelers head out to Batangas. Walking on white, sandy shore and taking a dip on pristine waters can certainly cool you off from the summer heat.

Laiya is a popular beach destination in San Juan, Batangas, which takes a 3-hour drive from Manila. This place is lined with many beach resorts for both low-end and high-end beach bums. I recently visited Laiya and beach hopped 3 popular resorts in the vicinity.

1. ACUATICO BEACH RESORT

If all you want is a sweet escape and to find comfort, Acuatico is definitely for you..

Acuatico Beach Resort is a popular luxury resort in Batangas. It is the only deluxe resort with Balinese-themed villas in the whole stretch of Laiya shoreline. Upon visiting and taking a quick tour of the resort, Acuatico proves to be the beach destination for the high rollers. The place was magnificent and the staff were really nice in letting us go around the resort.

Acuatico Beach Resort is not only a summer getaway but it is also a well-known location for different events like weddings, birthdays, and other celebrations usually by the elite. It can house a maximum of 70 guests, which is ideal for intimate gatherings.

The infinity pool at Acuatico Beach Resort is an amazing sight. After crossing out Bellarocca on my list when I visited it in September 2011, Acuatico is now¬† a close second to Thunderbird Poro Point. We will meet again Acuatico and next time, I’ll do my cannonballs on that pool. :)

I think Acuatico offers a day tour starting at approximately Php 2,000 per person. However, they said they don’t accept day tours during weekends to provide exclusivity of use for their guests staying overnight.

Here is the map to Acuatico Beach Resort. Here are also the rates and amenities on this posh beach resort. Got this from Acuatico’s brochure.

2. BLUE CORAL RESORT

For mid-range travelers and for family outings, Blue Coral Resort is a good destination..

Walking along the shoreline of Laiya, you can easily stumble upon Blue Coral Resort. This beach resort is the next door neighbor of Acuatico. It offers a tropical getaway that offers white sand and blue sea.

Though it’s no luxury resort, I think Blue Coral is still a good choice for a beach resort where you can bring your whole family this summer. It definitely is cheaper than Acuatico but you can still have fun and enjoy swimming in the cool sea or its two-tiered swimming pool.

Blue Coral offers a day tour with meal at prices between Php 800 to Php 1,150 per person depending on the day (weekend or weekday) and the season (lean or peak). Kids have 50% discount for the day tour.

For Blue Coral room rates, check them out here.

3. KABAYAN BEACH RESORT

Planning an outing on a budget, Kabayan Beach Resort can be your best bet..

For a more budget-friendly way to enjoy the Laiya Beach, you can check out Kabayan Beach Resort. This beach resort was formerly known as Laplaya Beach Resort. Since the main reason to go to the beach is to bask under the sun, Kabayan shares the same shore with Acuatico and Blue Coral. It also has that white sand that you can tickle your toes with and the same blue sea that can refresh you when you take a dip.

Kabayan also has its own swimming pool, if you prefer to swim there instead of the beach.

Kabayan Beach Resort has a day tour of Php 100 per person and Nipa Hut rentals between Php 1,000 and Php 2,000 depending on the size of the cottage. Kids 11 years old and below have day tour fee of Php 50 per person.

So, where are you heading out this summer? Wherever that is, enjoy and never forget to..

Spread some awesome..ness.. :D

We’re planning on going to Blue Coral but Kabayan looks interesting at mas mura pa. Malinis ba facilities ng Kabayan?

I have been looking around for a resort where we could stay. I have a couple of small kids so I definitely want to stay in a resort with clean rooms, fresh sheets, no bed bugs, a treated pool and of course clean bathrooms. Aquatico is a bit pricey so I was interested with Blue Coral UNTIL I read the reviews. The place daw looks dingy and run down. The water in the pool daw is green and the food is negligible. So what is Blue Coral really like NOW?

    @Bobbie Chua
Hi Bobbie! The last time I went to Blue Coral, I was not able to try staying in the rooms or swimming in the pool since I went there just to inquire. Honestly, the appearance of the building is not that quite amusing but we didn’t see the rooms so I cannot really say. The pool appears to be enjoyed by many of their guests. I was more of a beach person and since the beach of Blue Coral and Acuatico are relatively the same, I thought if beach is what you are looking for, the former will do esp if you are traveling on a budget. Regarding the food, it’s an eat-all-you-can package and yes, it’s just average. If you want a sure bet on your conditions, I think your best option is a luxury resort. I hope this helps! :)
