I think anyone who goes to Hong Kong, goes to Hong Kong Disneyland. Though many say that there is more to Hong Kong than Disneyland, you still haven’t experienced Hong Kong if you didn’t visit the happiest place on earth. So, even if it was raining cats and dogs that day, we braved the storm to experience happiness at Hong Kong Disneyland.

Hong Kong Disneyland is located in Lantau Island. It has its own MTR line, which is connected to the Sunny Bay station.

Based from experience, if it’s raining, don’t go to Hong Kong Disneyland. Reschedule because you will not be able to enjoy the rides and the scenery. The parade was also cancelled, which is said to be something not to miss when in Disneyland. I’m definitely coming back to see the parade.

But in case you are already in Hong Kong Disneyland and it starts to rain, you can still enjoy indoor rides like the Space Mountain. You can also watch shows. Of all the shows, you shouldn’t miss the Golden Mickey.

The Golden Mickey is a musical celebration of Disney’s films and characters. Though we were so down because of the strong rain, watching the Golden Mickey brought our spirits up. You should watch it if you are in Hong Kong Disneyland. I am not into musical but it left me speechless upon witnessing the show. Awesome!

Since it was still raining, it was already improbable that we will be enjoying the rides so we searched for another show to watch. We saw the Festival of the Lion King. Lion King has been a big part of my childhood so reliving its moments brings me back to my younger days. It was fun to see a legendary show come to life right in front of your eyes.

Aside from the parade, which are done at 1 PM and 4 PM, you shouldn’t also miss the fireworks display at 8PM. The fireworks display is done in front of Sleeping Beauty’s castle.

Though I didn’t get to enjoy most of the rides because of the rain, I still had fun with Mickey and his friends. I am definitely going back and next time, I will be checking the weather channel first.
