Swensen’s Ice Cream & Sundaes in Eastwood Mall
Duration : a few minutes to chill
Bummers : large crowds of customers who want to chill
Cravings satisfied. With Swensen’s opening nearby, had the opportunity to have a large serving from this popular ice cream parlor.
There’s no way to dine in the first time at Swensen’s but to get the largest on their menu – The Earthquake (Php 655). The Earthquake is described as ” the earth-shattering extravaganza Sundae combing 8 scoops of ice cream and rich toppings: hot fudge, caramel, strawberry jam, pineapple jam, marshmallow, and almonds.”
It’s just quite puzzling why my Earthquake does not have pineapple jam, almonds, and marshmallows. But it has cherries so maybe that cancels out what’s missing.
When you get the earthquake, you can choose up 8 different flavors of ice cream. Since we didn’t know much about the flavors, we just went to get the Swensen’s Signature flavors. We chose Reversible Chocolate, Rock @ Heart, Wild @ Heart, Macadamia, Sticky Chewy Chocolate, Rum Raisin, Mocha Almond Fudge, and Strawberry Cheese Cake. We loved everything except we were not so much amused with the Rum Raisin. If you’re not into alcohol or raisins, this isn’t for you. Maybe that’s why the waitress asked us if we were sure of getting Rum Raisin. We were warned.
At Php 95 per scoop, we think it is quite pricey but if there’s something to celebrate or it is payday, Swensen’s is a great place to chill out with friends. The price is a play between Häagen-Dazs (more expensive) and Dairy Queen (cheaper). Both ice cream parlors are also in Eastwood City.
Spread some awesome..ness..
