News: Häagen-Dazs to Stop Operations in the Philippines
Let us all spend a moment of silence for all Häagen-Dazs fanatics in the Philippines. From Häagen-Dazs Philippines Official Website, it has been announced that it will be closing down its stores and stopping operations starting on the following dates – June 30, 2012 (Mall of Asia and Robinsons Mall) and August 31, 2012 (Shangri-la Plaza Mall and Eastwood Mall).
Häagen-Dazs wants to leave the Philippines with a final hurray by giving away free scoops ice cream to their first 1,000 customers on a first-come, first-served basis. An announcement has been made available from their Häagen-Dazs Philippines Official Facebook Page. According to their Facebook announcement and from my first-hand experience, no purchase is needed to avail of their promo. This will certainly make a lot of people happy even for one last time.
A couple of friends and I have personally experienced this promo from their Mall of Asia branch. Many will surely miss Häagen-Dazs though it is quite pricey, I consider it an ice cream meant for special celebrations. I remember having a cup of it in their Eastwood branch. I had pistachio that time. Today, for one final moment in their Mall of Asia branch, I had a cup of Belgian Chocolate. I was a bit teary-eyed because like Baskin and Robbins, there will be times that I will go wandering around searching for this ice cream and it won’t be readily available.
