Spread Some Awesome

Road-tripping in the southern outskirts of Metro Manila, we reached Tagaytay City for a cup of coffee. After a couple of hours chilling in foggy Tagaytay, we started scouring the south for a good ramen place because someone had massive cravings about it. RamenX was mentioned. At first I thought, is it a porn show. But what the heck, so we decided to try it out. The nearest RamenX to us during that time was the one in Alabang Town Center (2 other branches are in Centris and Trinoma Mall).

RamenX has affordable ramen with good soup base and large portions but the noodles served to us during that time were quite thick. It seems like the noodles were overcooked a little as they tend to be a little pasty too. I am not sure if that is the case for other branches or that was just an unfortunate bad batch. Still, I’d be willing to try RamenX again in the future just to check the quality of the noodles and the consistency of the ramen taste.

RamenX only has a small menu – with 11 ramen options,6 rice bowls, and 4 Wafu dogs. Several add-ons can be added in the mix if you think the ramen is not enough.

Bar Dolci

Bar Dolci is one of the few “bars” in the metro that you can visit to relieve stress, leave your troubles behind, and still wake up without any head splitting hangover the morning after. Bar Dolci means “sweet bar” (“dolci” is a wordplay on the word “dolce”, which means “sweetly and softly”). This bar is popular for creating its own freshly made gelatos, macarons, and popsicles everyday.

Bar Dolci is not only known for these sweet treats but it also has its sturdy foundation on freshness and innovation. It creates all of its products from scratch in their in-house kitchen-like area. The gelatos are churned out of the machine every 15 minutes to guarantee freshness. Even the fillings on their macarons are created by them using on the freshest ingredients.
